As per the order of the Supreme Court of India in May 2013, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be the only medical entrance examination for admission to around 90,000 MBBS, BDS and AYUSH courses offered by the government, private, deemed and central university/colleges in India. NEET(UG) 2019 online application has begun and the last date is November 30, 2018. The NEET(UG) 2019 exam will be conducted on May 5, 2019.
The schedule of the NEET(UG) 2019 exam will remain the same even if the date of the exam is declared as a public holiday.
Ever since the news of the NEET being conducted by a new body- National Testing Agency (NTA), students are confused about the changes in the exam pattern. This is the first NEET exam conducted by the NTA. Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved NTA to bring high reliability, standardized and difficulty level for assessing the aptitude, intelligence and problem solving issued in the students.
The NEET(UG) 2019 exam will be conducted in offline mode. The exam will be OMR – Pen and Paper based. Students would be given 3 hours to attempt the entire question paper. There will be three sections in the question paper
- Physics (45 questions)
- Chemistry (45 questions)
- Biology – Botany(45 questions) and zoology (45 questions)
The total mark allotted for the question paper is 720 and each question will carry 4 marks, for each incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted from the total.
On the NTA website for NEET(UG) 2019, the lectures have been prepared by IIT Professors and subject experts and are available for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects. These lectures can be beneficial not just for the entrance exam but also for the upcoming board exams.
